We booked the restaurant for a surprise 70th birthday for approximately 50 guests. The staff were pleasant and very friendly. All my guests were very happy with the quality of food and no complaints. Was a bit sceptical about booking at first according to previous reviews but the food was good when we came to sample it and was even better on the day. Big compliments to the chef as he done an amazing job with all that was orderd. The bar dose need to have fixed prices as some guests were paying different rates so did get a bit confusing. Otherwise would highly recommend to all.

This used to be a solid, reliable place for authentic Indian food and sweets. We used to visit regularly but haven't been for a while since moving away from the area. Visited again for the first time in over a year recently, and it appears that standards have slipped, while prices have risen. Samosas were over-fried to such an extent that not only was the exterior as hard as a rock, but the filling was burnt dry. Chicken Methi had a good flavour, but only 3 minuscule pieces of meat - not what you would expect for 7.50. Likewise, the lamb chop curry was mainly bone. Seafood was also unavailable due to deliveries only coming once a week. Hopefully my experience was just a blip. Update: Feb 2015 Above review was for Chandni Chowk, the former name of this restaurant. It's now under new management, including the original chef which is great news, as the food is back to its best.

My wife and I visited this restaurant last night. The food is Punjabi, not your usual run-of-the-mill Indian cuisine. We both had starters and a main course with rice and bread. The food was excellent, and the service prompt and attentive. We eat meat, but if you don’t ,you won’t be short of options as the menu has a good range of vegetarian dishes. If you like Indian cuisine, you will love this restaurant. If you want to try something a bit different, give it a whirl.

I have quite a different opinion about the portions. Having experienced really overpriced Indian restaurants near my workplace in Central London, it is a relief to come to this restaurant and have a nice warm and very fulfilling portion of nicely prepared food. I love the fact that they have plenty of vegetarian options and having tried many of them, I have never been disappointed. It is true that prices are slightly over your usual Indian takeaway (but once again, comparing to Central London, it is far from being expensive), but then the atmosphere is very nice and I have always had excellent service. They have live music on weekend nights, which also adds a bit to your experience (particularly as I am not Indian), but probably here lies my only critic: The live music can be quite loud and therefore, at times, can spoil your conversation. Overall, I recommend it. I have never had a bad experience with this restaurant.
